I was taking inventory of two separate products while making them cohesive and solving for any usability problems I discovered along the way. The admin page of one of products felt incomplete and difficult to understand.
Each company in the company tree had its own dropdown menu on click, and it wasn't obvious that those items could even be clicked. To solve for this problem, I moved the company tree into a vertical menu. It maintains the structure of being an org chart, but makes it apparent that you can click through each company to see the company details, member management, and connections in a tabular format. The tab design is also a component that is found in other areas of the product maintaining consistency.
